Greetings all,
Janet Klark and I are in Trujillo Peru! WOW!
DAY ONE - Tuesday April 15th
The flight from Boston to Lima was SO EASY compared to flying to India!
The plane wasn't full so we got to spread out and that always helps.
The crew was the most delightful American crew that I've had in years!
We landed in Lima and Mario was there to pick us up. Barbara Lanzdorf
and our friend Marlys Schmidt who was our Israel tour director left in
the early morning on the 15th and we arrived late that same night. I
was absolutely amazed at how clean and nice and modern the Lima airport
is. Wow!
Mario was here waiting for us with a van that is a surfer taxi! Todd
told me if I came back from Peru with tan lines from my bathing suit he
was going to be very suspicious and I was already in a surfers' taxi!
So I just landed and I was already thinking, "help me Jesus!" We went
to a very nice international hotel for the night. Beautiful mahogany
wood everywhere.
DAY TWO - Wednesday April 16th
We got up the next morning and rushed back to the airport to our flight
to Trujillo. We ran into long lines and the timing was way too close
for comfort, but we made the flight. We had another nice short flight
and landed in Trujillo. They took us to our motel, the San Andres and
what a wonderful surprise! It is a beautiful old building with mahogany
parquet floors and clean rooms - and even a pool on the roof! The
weather is warm and sunny but not too hot for us and it is cool at
night.
There are two young men here from Washington State who are helping
Mario and Sara. They are wonderful. Their names are Luke and David.
They have helped to set up sound equipment, drive us around and take
care of details. They are wonderful servants.
The first afternoon we went to the city outside of Trujillo called
Miracle and went to the building called Miracle I. We worshipped out on
the street with mostly children and their mothers. Sarah and I danced
with the children. We had a wonderful time!
I preached on the love of God and on "sozo". I shared about some of the
healings in India to build their faith and then I started to minister.
I prayed for a young girl with back problems and she was the one who
had the most miraculous healing, but also her elderly father had the
pain in his shoulder go. A lady with a migraine had her pain lessen. I
prayed for an older woman with a sore knee and I could feel it pop and
move as I prayed for her. I prayed for a woman with a heart issue and
she was in pain and she reported the pain left. There were others who
were not in pain so that was in faith, but God was SO faithful!
Everyone I prayed for out on the street who was in pain reported that
they their pain went away totally or lessened a lot. There was lots of
love all around.
They served up purple pudding to the children and there was lots of
joy! Praise God! Praise God! It was wonderful.
DAY THREE - Thursday April 17th
We had a nice breakfast here at the motel. We went to the city outside
of Trujillo called Hope and went way up to the preschool called Hope I.
Again, we were among the very poor, but the children are so wonderful!
We shared a little and I talked to the children about praying for
healing for others and releasing the kingdom of heaven through their
little hands. One little girl immediately wanted to lay hands and pray
for me and then for Sarah! She was so precious! She was already packing
the Holy Ghost! I was getting walloped!
We went for a short ride to the Pacific ocean had lunch at Mario and
Sarah's.
Then we went back to our hotel to rest and prepare for the
night. In the evening I spoke at their Bible college that meets on the
roof on their house. It reminds me a bit of our garage days! They say
that the Thursday night group is smaller than the Friday night group.
It was perhaps 25- 30 people. I spoke about the new song, praise and
worship and the glory. I shared about songs of the Spirit. Some of them
didn't know that the new song was a brand new song of the Spirit. Even
though I picked up the guitar and started to lead in the new song, they
thought it was a song that I knew. The glory came with a very thick
heaviness. Janet said that she was receiving even though she had
heard most of the preaching before. The anointing was strong and
everyone then worshiped again after the preaching. The joy of the Lord
broke out some.
The love of the people is so wonderful. It seems you can't go 30
minutes without someone giving you a kiss on the cheek or a hug!
I find (much to my surprise) I absolutely love preaching on dirt
streets among the poor with houses of mud brick and no water and no
electric. In India or here in Peru, there is so much freedom! They just
pull up a car and block the dirt road and put up a sound system and
have a gathering. We think we have freedom in America and we can barely
blink even on our own property.
Today we have an easy day and I preach at a "conference" which means a
meeting at a hotel, but they have printed posters and tickets to give
out to people. Mario picked the theme of the meeting as Deut 28:12! The
Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain
to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And
you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
